Person Critically Injured In Hit-Run Crash On Long Island
An investigation is underway after a person was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash on Long Island. It happened in Hempstead at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, according to the Nassau County Police Department. Police said a pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was crossing South Franklin Street near Peninsula Boulevard when he was struck by a southbound dark-colored SUV. The SUV left the scene, and the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, NCPD said. Police are investigating a crash in which a man crossing a Long Island roadway was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle. It happened around 2:15 p.m. Friday, April 15 in Hempstead. A Long Island school bus driver was charged with allegedly driving drunk while children were aboard the bus. At around 4:50 p.m., Nassau County Police received a report of a woman slumped over the steering wheel of a school bus in Hempstead. Officers responded to South Franklin Street and Grove Street to perform a welfare check of the woman, where they found her slumped over the wheel with children aboard the bus, police said. A man implicated in a string of assaults and an armed robbery is in police custody after targeting multiple Long Island businesses this month.
