School Bus Fire Breaks Out At Long Island Middle School Suffolk County correction officers teaching a program at William Floyd Middle School were first on the scene of a school bus fire in Moriches. The fire took place on Wednesday, Oct. 2, just before students were released for the day, said the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office. Officers Christopher Delaney and  Brian Arce were at the school teaching the Gang Resistance Education and Training  Program when the bus caught fire, police said.
