The incident happened at around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, in Brentwood, on I-495 near Sagtikos Parkway, according to Suffolk County Police. Investigators said 36-year-old Brandon Gillespie, of Smithtown, had stopped his 2012 Jeep Liberty in the right eastbound lane of the LIE when he was rear-ended by a box truck. Missing Person Among 2 Wrong-Way Drivers Stopped On Southern State Parkway In Islip, Police Say A missing person has been found after State Police on Long Island responded to not one, but two separate wrong-way drivers on the Southern State Parkway in just as many days. Troopers were first called at around 9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, with reports of a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway in the town of Islip, near exit 42, according to State Police. Long Island Bridge Jumper Survives Fall A man who jumped from a Long Island parkway bridge onto the Long Island Expressway survived the fall. The incident took place around 9:40 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, when State Police responded to a report of a man on the Sagtikos Parkway bridge over the expressway in the town of Islip. According to Trooper Daniel Ahlgrim, troopers made contact with the man, who had climbed over the guide rail, he jumped onto the grassy area between the LIE westbound lanes and the service road.  All lanes of the Sagtikos and the LIE were shut down during the incident. One Seriously Injured In Long Island Expressway Crash In Suffolk A man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened Friday, April 30 at approximately 2:40 p.m. in Brentwood. Michael Griff, age 53, of Coram, was riding a 2015 Victory motorcycle eastbound on the expressway when he lost control and crashed just west of the Sagtikos Parkway, Suffolk County Police said. Darius Eley, age 21, of Islip, was traveling southbound, in the right lane, around 9:40 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, at approximately 9:39 pm, when his vehicle, a 2010 Nissan Altima, was struck by a 1995 Nissan 240SX driven by Jaime Coriano, age 33, of East Patchogue, state police said.  The collision caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and crash into the trees on the right shoulder, said state police.
