Man Pretending To Be Grandson Tried To Scam Bellmore Man Of Thousands, Police Say A man pretending to be a Bellmore man's grandson attempted to scam the grandfather out of thousands of dollars. The incident took place around 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, when Rafael Sanchez, 37, of Manhattan, called the 72-year-old man and pretended to be his grandson, said the Nassau County Police. Sanchez then told the victim that he needed bail money after being arrested. The victim was then given another number to call to set up a bail amount and instructions to deliver the money, police said.
