Members Of ‘South American Theft Group’ Cut Power To LI Jewelry Stores Before Heist, Cops Say Several suspected members of a South American organized crime ring are facing charges for their alleged roles in a string of burglaries on Long Island. Nassau County Police said two jewelry stores were also hit during the spree in July 2022, one near Atlantic and Ocean avenues in Freeport, and another near Northern Boulevard and Marion Street in Greenvale. Suspect At Large After Man Robbed, Punched In Head During Long Island Attack Police on Long Island are searching for a man who allegedly robbed another man and then punched and kicked him. The incident took place around noontime on Tuesday, March 9, on Pine Street in Freeport, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, a 49-year-old man was walking westbound on Pine Street when he was approached by an unknown man. The man asked if the victim had any money. The victim replied no and the subject proceeded to forcefully rip a chain from the victim’s neck before fleeing on foot.  The victim began knocking on doors to find help and contact the police.…

Alert Issued For Missing Long Island Girl Police are asking the public for help locating a missing Long Island girl. The teen, Victoria Tolentino-Bhatti, age 15, was reported missing on Thursday, Jan. 21, in Freeport, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, Tolentino-Bhatti was last seen at her Ocean Avenue residence.  She is described as being white, with a medium build, 5-foot-1, and 165 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt over a blue Aeropostale shirt with yellow writing, black jeans, and grey sneakers.  She suffers from a cognitive disorder, and her possible destination is unkn…
