Fatal Crash: Man Struck By Car While Walking Across Copiague Roadway One person was killed in an overnight crash near a busy Long Island intersection. It happened at around 8 p.m. Sunday, April 9 in Copiague. A 61-year-old man was walking westbound across Great Neck Road, approximately 75 feet north of Oak Street, when he was struck by a southbound 2020 Toyota Corolla, Suffolk County Police said.  The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. Four Teens Nabbed For String Of Burglaries At Suffolk County Businesses, Police Say Four teens have been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries at Long Island businesses in the past week. The Suffolk County Police Department reported that officers responded to a report of a group of teens trying to break into Cell Phone Resurrection, located at 239 Deer Park Ave. in Babylon, at about 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21. While canvassing the area, officers found a 2011 Hyundai Tucson entering the parking lot at 1906 Deer Park Ave. in Deer Park. Man Struck, Killed By Minivan In Suffolk A man from Nassau County was killed after being hit by a minivan in Suffolk County. It happened at about 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Copiague, Suffolk County Police said. Nicole Campay, 40, of Lindenhurst,  was driving a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country eastbound on Oak Street, east of Great Neck Road, when the vehicle struck the pedestrian who stepped into the roadway. The pedestrian, Wojtek Brajczewski, 61, of Wantagh, was transported via Copiague Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. Campay was not injured.
