If you want to raise a family and are a New York resident, you're living in one of the big places in the country, according to a new study.
A survey of the best and worst states for families, conducted by WalletHub, has ranked all 50 states by how hospitable they are to families. Factors considered include family fun, health and safety, education and childcare, affordability, and socio-economics.
New York ranked fourth nationally, with high marks in education as well as family fun.

$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold In New York
There was no winner in the $640 million Powerball jackpot for the drawing held on Saturday, Jan. 16, but 16 players won at least $1 million by matching all the white numbers, with one of the winning tickets sold in New York, in the Hudson Valley.
It was purchased in Rockland County at Gulf Mart in Pearl River on East Central Avenue, the New York Lottery announced Sunday morning, Jan. 17.
The other winning tickets were sold in Texas (three), California (two), Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Covid-19: Travelers From More States, Puerto Rico, DC Added To NY/NJ/CT Quarantine List
Travelers from three more states, as well as Puerto Rico and Washington, DC, with high positive testing rates for COVID-19 have now been added to the joint quarantine order for out-of-state travelers to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
The newly added states as of Tuesday, July 28, are Illinois, Kentucky, and Minnesota, bringing the number to 34 states, in addition to Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.

Travelers from 10 more states with high positive testing rates for COVID-19 have now been added to the joint quarantine order for out-of-state travelers to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Alaska, Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Virginia and Washington were added to the list on Tuesday, July 21, bringing the total number of states to 31. Minnesota came off the list.
