Person Of Interest In Fatal Shinnecock Reservation Shooting Charged In Vehicle Break-In A person of interest in a fatal shooting on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation was arrested in North Carolina after allegedly breaking into a vehicle. Michael Gaines, 42, was identified by police as a person of interest following the fatal shooting of Mtundo Vanterpool at the Reservation on Friday, Aug. 16. Police said that on Sunday, Aug. 18, Gaines was taken into custody by officers for breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
