Fire Breaks Out At Long Island Apartment Building An early morning fire broke out at a Long Island apartment building. The blaze in Great Neck Plaza.began around 7:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20 at 88 Cuttermill Road, the Nassau County Public Information Office said. Upon arrival, police officers, with the assistance of the fire department, were able to evacuate the building and locate the fire coming from an apartment inside the building.  Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company and Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department responded and were able to extinguish the fire. There were no reported injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
