Long Island Man Assaults Police Officers During Arrest, Cops Say A Long Island man has been charged for allegedly causing multiple injuries to police officers attempting to arrest him following a crash. Terrance Clifford, age 32, of Woodbury, was arrested on Thursday, March 2 in Plainview. According to Nassau County detectives, Clifford was traveling northbound on Manetto Hill Road, driving a 2016 Toyota sedan. At the intersection of Old Country Road, he struck a 2018 Mazda SUV being driven by a 37-year-old woman, forcing the vehicle to collide with a 2021 Dodge Ram being operated by a 34-year-old man.  Both victims sustained mi…

Suspect At Large After Burglary At Long Island Gas Station Police are investigating a burglary at a Long Island gas station. It happened between Friday, Sept. 23, and Saturday, Sept. 24, in Plainview, Nassau County Police said. An unknown person entered the Mobil station at 220 Manetto Hill Road and removed an unknown amount of US currency, cigarette cartons and Lottery tickets, said police.  The suspect fled in an unknown direction. Detectives request anyone with information on the incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous. New Amazon Fresh Stores Set To Open On Long Island New grocery options are coming for consumers on Long Island as Amazon plans to expand its grocery store operation on the East Coast. The online retail giant reportedly has plans to open Amazon Fresh grocery stores on Nesconset Highway in East Setauket, on Long Beach Road in Oceanside, and on Manetto Hill Road in Plainview. In East Setauket and Oceanside, the Amazon Fresh locations will be replacing defunct former Waldbaum stores, and the Plainview spot is at the former Fairway Market.
