Drunk Driver Crashes Car In Parking Lot At Greenport High School, Police Say A local man has been accused of driving while intoxicated after a crash at a Long Island high school. The man was operating a 2023 Genesis sedan in the parking lot of Greenport High School just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 1 when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a metal barrier pole, and then a chain link fence, Southold Police said.  William Lieblein, age 55, a resident of Greenport, as determined to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest. Man Nabbed Stealing Commercial Hedge Trimmer From Driveway Of Suffolk Home A Long Island man was arrested after being caught on video surveillance allegedly stealing a commercial-grade hedge trimmer from a driveway. Joseph Rhodes, 57, of Greenport, was arrested around 8:56 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, by Southold Police after the owner of the hedge trimmer saw the victim on his property removing the item from a trailer, said the Southold Police.  A Southold police officer was able to identify  Rhodes and he was located a short distance away, where he admitted to stealing the trimmer, police said.
