Bryan Masem, 41, of the hamlet of Yaphank in Brookhaven, was driving his 2016 Chevy pickup truck southbound on Bicycle Path when he passed a construction crew that had a cable guide wire lying on the ground across the roadway near 617 North Bicycle Path, police said. Long Island Teen Critically Injured After Falling From Scaffold A teenage construction worker was critically injured and another person hurt after they fell about 30 feet from a makeshift scaffolding at a construction site on Long Island. The incident occurred at a new home under construction on South Bayview Avenue in Freeport just before 2 p.m. Monday, July 1. The teen, 17, reportedly hit his head after the fall.
