St. James Firehouse Nominated To Become Historic Site A 100-year-old firehouse is one of 16 properties to be nominated by the governor to be added to the State and National Registers of Historic Places. On Thursday, June 8, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that the New York State Board for Historic Preservation nominated 16 sites across New York State for the State and National Registers of Historic Places, including the St. James Firehouse and its garage.
