23-Year-Old Charged With Vehicle Manslaughter, Dwai After Fatal Southern State Crash A 23-year-old man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving while under the influence of drugs after a fatal two-vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway in Oyster Bay. The crash, west of exit 30 in the Town of Oyster Bay, occurred just past midnight Friday, April 19.  Preliminary investigation revealed that the collision occurred when a 2017 Honda Accord traveling westbound in the right lane, struck the rear of a 2019 GMC, state police said.  The impact caused the GMC to exit the roadway onto the right shoulder and into the trees, according to police.
