Two Long Island police officers are being honored for helping to save a woman in medical distress. The incident took place in Holtsville around 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. Emergency crews were called to a home in Suffolk County on Church Street in Holbrook Friday, May 13, with reports that an 81-year-old man had suffered cardiac arrest. One person died and eight others were rescued after being pulled from the ocean off a beach on Long Island. The City of Long Beach Fire Department was alerted for a water rescue shortly before 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 9 at Monroe Boulevard and the Ocean Beach Park, where swimmers were reportedly in distress. Long Island Woman Dies After Fire Breaks Out
A woman who was hospitalized after a fire on Long Island has died. The blaze broke out Sunday, June 14 at 1:50 a.m. in Uniondale at the Park Gardens Senior Center located at 840 Uniondale Ave. Nassau County Police officers, with the assistance of the Uniondale Fire Department, were able to safely evacuate all residents. A Long Island man died after hitting a tree while skiing in New England. It happened on Saturday, Dec. 28 at approximately 3 p.m. at the Killington Resort in Vermont.
