Laura Bee, age 59, of Lake Grove, pleaded guilty to one count of grand larceny in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, Jan. 16 after stealing from clients of Ever Love Jewelers in Huntington. Prosecutors said Bee offered to help her friends sell various jewelry items – valued at nearly $31,000 – and took possession of the pieces between September 2019 and June 2022. Man Charged In Connection To Rental Scam In Suffolk A Long Island man has been charged with scheming to defraud, grand larceny and issuing bad checks in connection to a rental scam, Suffolk County Police said. Aleandro Claudio of Brentwood showed an apartment to a prospective renter in January 2019, took a deposit, then later stated the apartment was not available, according to police. When the prospective renter requested a refund, Claudio issued a check that was returned for insufficient funds, said police.
