A  Long Island man was killed during a single-vehicle crash in which the car hit multiple utility poles.

The crash took place around 9:15 a.m., Friday, March 5, in Herricks, said the Nassau County Police.

According to detectives, a 2008 Chevy Impala traveling eastbound on Hillside Avenue left the roadway, struck multiple utility poles, and came to a stop near Devonshire Drive.

The victim, a 75-year-old resident of the Village of Bellerose in Nassau County, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passenger, a 76-year-old man, was transported to a local area hospital in serious condition.

There seems to be no criminality at this time, police said.

The investigation continues.
