She opened the bakery in her hometown June 8. Both weekends Vigliarolo, a brand, new graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island where she triple-majored in culinary, pastry and business- was forced to close early, said her mother Silvia Vigliarolo who helps out at the bakery.

"She sold everything. We're always busy and especially both weekends," Silvia Vigliarolo said. "The cakes were big on Father's Day (June 16). She sold a lot. They (customers) love the cannolis."

The Whisk also caters to the coffee and ice cream crowds.

Amanda makes her own ice cream and gelato and incorporated cappuccinos and other coffee drinks and milkshakes, along with selling cake by the slice, in her business plan to customers may enjoy their dessert at a leisurely pace.

Amanda has been working on the bakery since November when she bought the shop from a previous owner, her mother said.

"Buon Amici was the bakery before. Amanda started working for them when they first opened and she was just 14. She learned to make chocolates and cakes there. When they decided to sell the business they called her and she jumped on it," Silvia continued.

Amanda with family's help renovated the bakery, brightening the colors scheme to enhance the in-bakery experience for her coffee and ice cream business.
