Police are asking for tips after a 76-year-old man was beaten to death on a popular biking trail in the region. Emergency crews in Albany County were called shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, April 18, for an injured walker who was unconscious on the Mohawk Hudson Bike Trail in Menands. Relatives of a Massachusetts woman who was found dead on an upstate New York hiking trail after a weekslong search are finding solace in knowing she spent her final moments someplace she adored. Rensselaer County resident Matthew Ramos, of North Greenbush, left his home at the Eagle Rock Apartments sometime overnight Thursday, April 4, according to police. Two underage teens are facing attempted murder charges following a shooting in the region. 2 State Troopers Hospitalized After Crash In Upstate NY
Two New York State Police troopers were seriously injured after a weekend crash. It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday, March 23, in Rensselaer County on I-90 in the town of East Greenbush. Police in the region are asking for help in locating a missing teenage girl who hasn’t been seen in over a week. Rensselaer County resident Francis Jett, age 15, was last seen in Troy on Saturday, Feb. 17, according to East Greenbush Police. No other information was given. Cleanup efforts are underway following a freight train derailment that shut down a major highway in the region. The Rensselaer County incident happened just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, near Route 67 in Valley Falls.
