Somers Overwhelms Ossining In Sectional Football Semifinal

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Tim Fazzinga scored three of his five rushing touchdowns in the first half and the visiting Somers Tuskers ran past Ossining 52-14 in the Section 1 Class A football semifinals Friday.

Somers (8-1), the defending Class A sectional champion, will meet unbeaten Rye (9-0), a winner over Tappan Zee in Friday's other semifinal, on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Mahopac High School for the Section 1 Class A title.

Fazzinga and his backfield mates rushed for more than 250 yards in the first half to open up a 26-6 lead, and the Tuckers defense held Ossining quarterback Justin Davidov and the high-scoring Pride throughout.

The Somers defense had five interceptions, including on for a 90-yard touchdown return by Tyler DeVito for the final score of the game.
