It happened around 9:05 a.m. in Middlesex County on the I-91 northbound Exit 20 onramp in Middletown. A 2007 Toyota Corolla veered into the center lane and hit a 2019 Chrysler 300, according to state police. Both vehicles rolled into the grassy median. Toyota Recalling 1.8M RAV4s Over Hazardous Batteries Toyota is recalling more than 1.8 million of its RAV4s over hazardous batteries. According to a press release issued on Wednesday, Nov. 1, some replacement 12-volt batteries of the size specified for 2013 to 2018 RAV4 models have smaller top dimensions than others. If a small-top battery is used for replacement and the hold-down clamp is not tightened correctly, the battery could move and potentially short-circuit, increasing risk of a fire. Toyota Recalls 168K Trucks Because Of Possible Fire Risk Toyota is conducting a large safety recall involving some late-model pickup trucks. The auto giant announced that approximately 168,000 of its 2022 and 2023 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles are subject to the recall due to a possible fire hazard. According to the company, the vehicles included in the recall have a plastic fuel tube that can move and rub against a brake line, causing a fuel leak, which could lead to fires.  To remedy the issue, Toyota dealers will replace the plastic fuel tube with an improved part and additional clamp, officials said. It happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Orange County on I-87 in the town of Tuxedo.
