Man Breaks Into Malta Home, Stabs Resident, Police Say A 48-year-old man is accused of breaking into a home in the region and stabbing a resident. The Saratoga County incident happened Friday, Jan. 12 in the town of Malta, at a residence on Knabner Road. Sheriff’s officials said deputies were called at around 12:45 a.m. for a disturbance call. An investigation found that George Tinoco, of Saratoga Springs, entered the home through a window while armed with a knife. He allegedly then stabbed a woman in her arm. Police have arrested a suspected hit-and-run driver hours after he allegedly struck and killed a woman at a crosswalk in the region. The Saratoga County incident happened at around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, on State Route 50 in the town of Ballston. A preliminary investigation found that a vehicle was driving northbound on State Route 50 when it struck a woman in a marked crosswalk near Brookline Road, according to New York State Police. 28-Year-Old Chokes Woman Unconscious At Clifton Park Home, Police Say An altercation inside a home in the region ended with a woman being choked unconscious, police said. Deputies in Saratoga County were called at around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, for a welfare check at a home in Clifton Park located on Huntridge Drive, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators determined that Matthew Sand, age 28, choked the victim “with the intention of impeding her normal breathing or blood circulation,” causing her to lose consciousness.
