Man Breaks Into Malta Home, Stabs Resident, Police Say A 48-year-old man is accused of breaking into a home in the region and stabbing a resident. The Saratoga County incident happened Friday, Jan. 12 in the town of Malta, at a residence on Knabner Road. Sheriff’s officials said deputies were called at around 12:45 a.m. for a disturbance call. An investigation found that George Tinoco, of Saratoga Springs, entered the home through a window while armed with a knife. He allegedly then stabbed a woman in her arm. Deputies in Saratoga County were called at around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, for a welfare check at a home in Clifton Park located on Huntridge Drive, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators determined that Matthew Sand, age 28, choked the victim “with the intention of impeding her normal breathing or blood circulation,” causing her to lose consciousness. Investigators said 40-year-old Daniel McKay, of Amsterdam in Montgomery County, walked in and told an employee he was robbing the store. He implied that he had a gun but did not show any weapon.
