A man who was convicted of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's Westchester County apartment and slashing her across the face with a kitchen knife, leaving her permanently scarred, will spend over a decade behind bars.
Mount Vernon resident Ajany Waite, 33, was sentenced by Westchester County Court Judge Anne Bianchi to 18 years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, in connection with the 2025 attack, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

A Rockland County man was arrested when authorities found him in possession of videos and pictures depicting the sexual abuse of children, police said.
Congers resident Dylan Schneider, 28, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 4, following an investigation into his alleged possession of child sexual abuse material, New York State Police announced on Wednesday, Aug, 5.
