The incident took place in Rockland County around 10 p.m., Tuesday, July 12 in Nanuet in the area of N. Pascack Road and Clark Drive. Officers from the Ramapo Police Department on patrol on Route 202 on Wednesday, Dec. 16 spotted an unregistered dirt bike being driven by a minor who was not wearing a helmet. When the officer attempted to stop the teen, he dismounted the dirt bike and fled into a wooded area nearby, police said, prompting a short foot chase that led to the apprehension of the minor without further incident. Teen At Large After Abandoning Dirt Bike When Fleeing Police In Ramapo Police in Rockland County are attempting to locate the owner of a dirt bike that was abandoned by a teen when he fled from police. Ramapo Police said the dirt bike was recovered on Wednesday, Dec. 16 when a 16-year-old Airmont teen was stopped by police for driving the unregistered vehicle. After stopping, the teen fled into the woods but was captured a short distance away.
