Ramapo Police Charge Man With Marijuana Possession, Respond To Accidents

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Brewster man faces possession of marijuana charges after he was spotted dozing off in his car in a parking lot in Sloatsburg, Ramapo police said.

According to a post on the police department’s Facebook page, the unidentified 46-year-old man was in possession of a glass smoking pipe and a small bottle of pot.

The arrest was made around 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, police said.

He was ticketed, released, and given a court date in February, police said.

Also on Thursday, Ramapo police investigated eight accidents at the following locations: Trinity Avenue-Hillcrest, N. Main Street-Hillcrest, E. Eckerson Road-Hillcrest, W. Maple Avenue-Viola, Robert Pitt Drive-Monsey, Highview Road-Monsey, and two on Spook Rock Road-Monsey.

Only one of the accidents involved an injury, police said.

Police also responded to 125 calls for service, including: nine medical emergencies, 14 alarm activations, one fire; and other traffic incidents.
