19-Year-Old Driving 80 MPH In 45 Zone Faces Charges, Ramapo Police Say

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police have arrested a 19-year-old Hillburn man and charged him with reckless driving.

An officer conducting traffic enforcement on Route 17 observed a vehicle traveling more than 80 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone on Monday, Feb. 22, at 11:50 a.m., police report.

The driver was charged with reckless driving, a misdemeanor, according to officials.

He was also was cited for speeding, failing to use a designated lane, driving through a safety zone, passing on the right and obstructed view, police report.

He was ordered to appear in Ramapo Justice Court in March, according to officials.
