Ronald Greenwald, 82, died in Florida, the lohud report said.

Services are 6 p.m. tonight (Thursday, Jan. 21) at Yeshiva Ohr Sameach in Monsey, lohud reported.

According to Wikipedia, Greenwald, an educator and businessman, made a career of international hostage mediation and spy trading.

He was most famous for negotiating the release of Natan Sharansky, an Israeli human rights activist who had been held for nearly 10 years in Soviet prisons --allegedly for spying for the American Defense Intelligence Agency, the Wikipedia entry said.

The yeshiva is located at 244 Route 306. It can be reached at (845) 425-1370.
