Rockland Clergy Stand Against Islamophobia At Multifaith Event

VALLEY COTTAGE -- Clergy from across Rockland gathered Monday to meet head-on what they say is a wave of Islamophobia that has gripped much of the nation since the massacre in San Bernadino, according to lohud.com.

Though many of the leaders noted they had not witnessed any anti-Muslim behavior in the Lower Hudson Valley, the group condemned all "inflammatory" and "incendiary" language encouraging discrimination against the nation's Muslims, according to the report.

The event, designed to promote peace, according to the report, was organized by the Rockland Clergy for Social Justice and held at the Islamic Center of Rockland. About 50 people attended.
