Suffern's Lafayette Theater Offers Free Showing Of 'The Polar Express'

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- The Lafayette Theater in Suffern celebrates its 91st anniversary with a free showing of "The Polar Express."

The show will be Saturday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.

The show is part of the Robert Benmosche Film Festival, sponsored by Supervisor Christopher P. St. Lawrence and the Ramapo Town Board.

In "The Polar Express," Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis ("Forrest Gump"; "Cast Away") reunite for an adventure based on the children's book by Chris Van Allsburg. 

When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.
