Man Charged With Having Assault Rifle, Ammo In Hudson Valley A Hudson Valley man was charged with having an assault rifle without serial numbers during a traffic stop by state police. Orange County resident, Joshua Ayuk, age 30, of the city of Port Jervis, was arrested on Friday, May 19, during a traffic stop by New York State Police in the village of Saugerties. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, Ayuk was driving a Toyota Camry when he was stopped for a violation of state traffic laws. Wanted Out-Of-State Man Apprehended In Hudson Valley An out-of-state man wanted for assaulting a woman was nabbed by police in the Hudson Valley. The man was apprehended in Ulster County while officers were conducting a warrant investigation on Tuesday, Aug. 23. While conducting the investigation, officers located AJ Brown, age unknown, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, living in the hamlet of Glasco, in the town of Saugerties, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said. Highland Man Nabbed For Allegedly Stealing $1,800 In Jewelry, Police Say A Highland man has been arrested for allegedly ripping off some $1,800 in jewelry. Dominick Teroni Jr., 45, was arrested by Town of Lloyd Police after he was accused of entering another person's home and stealing the jewelry, Town of Lloyd police said. Teroni was charged with felony burglary, grand larceny, and petit larceny. He was arraigned before the Town of Lloyd Judge Eugene Rizzo and is being held at the Ulster County Jail without bail.

Wallkill Correction Officer Caught Trying To Bring K2 Into Prison, Police Say A state corrections officer has resigned after he was allegedly nabbed for attempting to bring synthetic marijuana or "K2" into a prison where he was employed. Travon Webb, 30, of Ellenville, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 25, after it was discovered during a search of employees entering the Wall Kill Correctional Facility that he was attempting to bring in some 64 grams of K2, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. Poughkeepsie Man Nabbed For Domestic Violence Assault A Poughkeepsie man was nabbed after more than a year for a domestic violence assault in which he never turned up in court. Reginald Alston, 51, was arrested Friday, May 4, on a bench warrant for third-degree assault, said Town of Lloyd Police Lt. James Janso. Alston was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail on $500 cash bail or $2,000 insurance bond, he said. He is due to appear in court on Thursday.
