12-Year-Old Struck By Vehicle On Way To School In Fairfield County, Police Say A 12-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while on his way to school in Fairfield County. The incident took place around 8:17 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, at the intersection of South Avenue and Farm Road in New Canaan, said New Canaan Police Lt. Jason Ferraro. According to Ferraro, the boy, a 12-year-old boy, a student at Saxe Middle School, suffered minor injuries from the crash and was transported to Norwalk Hospital ER by NC EMS for treatment and further evaluation of his injuries. Pickup Truck Displaying Confederate Flag Sparks Concern In New Canaan Many New Canaan residents are a bit on edge these days after seeing a pickup truck that is driving around town with a large Confederate flag.  The talk about the truck and its driver has been circulating on Facebook chat rooms and among neighbors. One Facebook poster said the truck has been driving "aggressively" around town. The New Canaan Police Department said it received "a couple of calls" regarding the truck, but didn't immediately know if it has been pulled over for any reason.
