20-Year-Old Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree, Becomes Engulfed In Flames, Police Say A 20-year-old passenger was killed in a fiery single-car crash overnight.  It happened at around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8 in Dutchess County on the Shunpike between Route 44 and Kennels Road in the town of Washington. The car, a Toyota sedan, went off the roadway and into the tree, before becoming engulfed in flames, State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks said. An initial investigation revealed James M. Two Charged With Possession Of Cocaine, Pot After Pleasant Valley Stop New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley busted a pair with cocaine and marijuana during a routine traffic stop on Route 44 in Dutchess County. Troopers on patrol at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night stopped Lloyd residents Adam Cardella, 21, and Tyler Bugbee, 22, for a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the subsequent stop, it was reported that there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, prompting further investigation.
