Dover Woman Dies In House Fire Trying To Save Cats A 46-year-old woman died in a house trailer fire in the region, reportedly attempting to save her cats. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 125 Reagans Mill Road in Dover around 5 a.m. on Thursday, April 25. According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, Ellen R. Travis of Dover, died as a result of the fire and was pronounced dead at the scene. "At this time, her death does not appear to be criminal in nature," Watterson said. Tip Leads To Arrest Of Area Man For Sexual Assault Of Child A 44-year-old Hudson Valley man was arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a child. Dutchess County resident Gelver Miguel Javiel, of Dover, was arrested on Monday, April 18, and charged with predatory sexual assault, according to New York State Police. An investigation was conducted after law enforcement received a tip that Javiel had sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13, police said. Authorities said Javiel was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.  He is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday, April 21, police said.
