Katonah Native Wins Met Junior Golf Title In Mahopac

MAHOPAC, N.Y. – A Katonah native faced an early two-hole deficit but answered with an eagle and three birdies in five later holes to earn the top spot at the 99th Met Junior Championship, according to The Examiner.

Christian Cavaliere won the tournament’s title at The Patterson Club on July 14, according to The Examiner, which reported that two days earlier the golfer earned medalist honors during the tournament’s 36-hole stroke-play competition and then won the Mandeville Trophy after winning four matches.

Though Cavaliere's early performance left him behind, his luck turned on the fourth hole, where he eagled from 92 yards out, according to The Examiner.

Cavaliere continued his stretch of good play, birdying holes 6-9, according to The Examiner, which reported that he made a shot from 6 feet out on hole 6, a two-putt birdie on hole 7 and a 20-foot shot on hole 8, according to The Examiner.
