Man, 27, Charged With DWI In Route 22 Stop In Southeast

SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Connecticut man with driving while intoxicated.

A deputy stopped a motorist who had allegedly committed a traffic violation on Route 22 in Southeast on Sunday, Jan. 10, at 2:55 a.m., officials report.

The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Brendan R. Tyrell, 27, of Danbury, Conn., was intoxicated, according to police.

The deputy arrested Tyrell and charged him with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, according to police.

The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment, officials report.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
