A multi-vehicle accident that resulted in a fuel spill is creating gridlock conditions on southbound I-684 Friday morning on the Westchester/Putnam border.
The accident, which occurred just before 7 a.m., is between I-84 (Exit 9) and Hardscrabble Rd (Exit 8) and has moved to the shoulder after initially blocking the left and center lanes.
There are also heavy delays on westbound I-84 as result, with traffic backed up to Exit 2 (Mill Plain/Old Ridgebury).
