Reitz easily won re-election, unofficial results from the county elections board show, defeating challenger Gina C. Capone. Reitz, the results show, garnered 25,705 votes (62.09 percent), while Capone has 15,684 (37.89 percent). Reitz ran on the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform Party ballot lines. Murphy Wins Special Election For Washington Town Board Seat WASHINGTON, N.Y. -- Michael E. Murphy has won the special election to serve out the remainder of a term for a vacant council seat on the Washington Town Board. With all four election districts reporting, unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections show Murphy with 1,079 votes (60.14 percent), while opponent Thomas M. Hurley received 715 votes (39.86 percent). Murphy ran as a Republican while Hurley ran as a Democrat.

Herzog and Joseph Rochfort have won re-election for their Millbrook Village Trustee seats, defeating challenger Timothy J. Collopy, according to unofficial results from the Dutchess County Board of Elections. The numbers show that Herzog won 399 votes (38.93 percent); Rochfort won 358 votes (34.93 percent); and Collopy came in third, and therefore lost, by getting just 265 votes (25.85 percent) Collopy and Herzog ran as Democrats while Rochfort ran as a Republican. Jonke Wins Open Putnam Legislative Seat; Albano, Sullivan Cruise To Wins PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Paul Jonke has won the race for a contested open seat for the Putnam County Legislature's sixth district, unofficial results show. The results, which are from the Putnam County Board of Elections, show that Jonke won with 3,046 votes (60.04 percent), while opponent Jen Cassidy received 2,027 (39.96 percent).
