Police To Conduct Random Checks At Houses Of Worship In Hudson Valley After Israel Attacks Following terrorist attacks in Israel that have killed hundreds of Israelis and several American citizens, authorities in the Hudson Valley will be conducting random checks of religious institutions as a precaution. Middle School Threats Lead To Increased Security In Mamaroneck Security has been beefed up following a string of threats that caused concern for students and staff in the Mamaroneck School District. New Canaan Home Burglarized While Family Away On Vacation, Police Say Following a home burglary in New Canaan in which the family was away on vacation, police are asking residents to be sure and secure their residences. The burglary was discovered around 10:51 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at a home on Route 106 (Silvermine Road) when the family returned from vacation and found they had been the target of thieves, said New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski. The residence was entered through a rear sliding glass door that was removed by the burglars. A number of items were stolen during the burglary.
