Judge Judy To Speak At Rye Country Day School's Commencement Ceremony Beloved television personality Judith Sheindlin, best known as "Judge Judy," is set to speak at the commencement ceremony of a school in Westchester where her grandchild currently attends.  Sheindlin, age 80, will speak at the Rye Country Day School's 2023 Upper School Graduation Ceremony later in the spring, school officials announced.  Best known for her Emmy Award-winning show "Judge Judy," which ran for 25 years, Sheindlin has been a Country Day School grandparent for students graduating in both 2018 and 2023.  School officials said that she would offer "words of wisdom" during her ap…

These Westchester Students Named National Merit Semifinalists Some of Westchester County’s best and brightest students were among those chosen as semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, which celebrates academic achievement in high school students. On Wednesday, 16,000 high school seniors were chosen from around the country. Those 16,000 will soon be pared to 7,500 finalists, who will be picked to receive upwards of $31 million in scholarships, which will be announced next spring as they prepare to continue their educations in college. Rye Country Day Teens Remember Shooting Victims In 'Just 17 Minute' Walkout More than 200 students and faculty members from Rye Country Day School "walked out" for 17 minutes at noon on Thursday March 1 to memorialize the 17 victims of the Parkland, Fla., mass shooting on Feb. 14.  Warren Kennedy-Nolle, a junior at Rye Country Day, said, "I'm happy to say that these were not just students, but members of the faculty and administration."
