Carmel Home Damaged By Fire LAKE CARMEL, N.Y. – A house along Lake Carmel in Kent suffered heavy damage due to a fire Friday night, LoHud.com reported. The residence at 14 Little Fill Court sustained damage to the roof and attic, according to the report by LoHud.com. The Lake Carmel Fire Department enlisted help from the fire departments of Carmel, Brewster and Kent to bring the blaze under control in about 30 minutes, according to LoHud.com. Police Issue 72 Tickets In Cortlandt Route 9 Detail CORTLANDT, N.Y. – State police issued 72 tickets in a recent Saturday morning detail along Route 9 in Cortlandt. The detail, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., was designed to enforce local speed laws. Forty-two tickets were issued for speeding, 29 were issued for other vehicle and traffic infractions and one ticket was given for a cell phone violation.

Jewish Board's Annual Hudson Valley Bike Ride In Purchase Raises $600K PURCHASE, N.Y. – About 280 riders took part in The Jewish Board's seventh annual Hudson Valley bike ride July 19 in Purchase. All proceeds from the event, almost $600,000, went to support Jewish Board health and human services programs, which focus on mental and physical health, family, housing, employment and education Riders enjoyed a barbecue and live music at the conclusion of the event. The Jewish Board supports more than 35,000 people across New York City's five boroughs and at a Westchester County campus.
