Port Chester Kid Learns And Has Fun At The Library

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- The deal that Manny Cervantes set up with his father was that he would do one hour of tutoring at the library and then get an hour to use the computers."I like to plays games and listen to music here," said Manny, 11.

Manny comes to the Port Chester-Rye Brook library once a week for group tutoring in math and language arts with a private tutor. When he's done, he signs up for a 30-minute session on one of the computers, and it's straight to game site.

Manny's father Jose is usually sitting nearby, sketching pictures in a notebook."I like to bring him here," said Mr. Cervantes. "It's quiet and he can focus on studying. But I have to let him play some games too."
