Lock Your Doors: Easton Police Warn Residents of 'Uptick' In Car Thefts EASTON, Conn. -- The Easton Police Department reminded driversto lock their cars after a recent "uptick" of cars being entered, according to a post on Facebook. Police reminded people to take all belongings with them when they leave their vehicles. Some items have been stolen from cars and most of the thefts have occurred late at night.  Residents should report unusual activity to Easton Police Dispatch at 203-268-4111.

Philip Walker Reeves, 57, died on Feb. 7 after a battle with cancer.  He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 15, 1959 to the late Courtney H. Reeves Jr. and Sarah S. Reeves. Freshman At St. Luke's In New Canaan Earns Berth On CT Ski Team NEW CANAAN, Conn. — St. Luke's freshman ski racer Phoebe Kurth has qualified for Team CT and will ski in the Eastern Regional High School Championships at Attitash, N.H. in March. Over 100 skiers, from high schools all over the state, competed in a giant slalom race on Jan. 30 with the top 30 boys and girls moving on to the slalom shootout on Monday Feb. 6. Stamford Man Gets Stiff Sentence For Possession Of Loaded Firearm STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man was sentenced to 63 months in jail for illegally possessing a loaded firearm. Charles Barnes, 35, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Alvin W. Thompson in Hartford. Barnes' term includes three years of supervised release. Stamford Police stopped a car Barnes was driving on Dec. 29, 2015. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a Berretta 9 millimeter pistol loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition, which was found in the glove box.
