Teen Girl Falls Despite Passaic County Sheriff's Attempts To Save Her PATERSON, N.J. - Tragedy struck Wednesday night in Passaic County when a young girl fell nearly 200 feet off a cliff in Garret Mountain Reservation despite the sheriff's department's attempt to stop her, according to nj.com. The sheriffs department responded around 6:30 p.m. after recieving reports that a young girl, around 14 or 15 years old, was threatening to harm herself, the story said.  Sheriff's officers tried to grab the girl before she jumped, NJ.com reported but she died about an hour later at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.  To read the full story, go here.

LaGrange Man Charged With Sexual Abuse to a Minor DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - The Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center worked with the Dutchess County Sheriffs office in the arrest of a LaGrange man on Sept. 24, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office charged Gregorio Barbieri, 59 of LaGrange, with one count of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, the Poughkeepsie Journal said. Brookfield Police Charge Man With Stealing Vacuums BROOKFIELD, Conn. - Brookfield police were called to the Bed Bath and Beyond on Candlewood Lake Road after a call reporting a man had stolen vacuums from the store, according to a story in the Danbury News-Times. When officers arrived, they were told a man had stolen several Dyson vacuums and fled through an emergency exit door, the story said.
