Kenneth L. LaCour, 82 of Ossining, died peacefully in his sleep December 22, 2022. He was born in Dallas, TX on December 24, 1939 to Leon LaCour, Sr., and Esther LaCour (nee Severin).

These Westchester High School Seniors Named Regeneron Scholars
Thirty-two high school seniors from Westchester are among the top 300 scholars in the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2023, regarded as the nation’s oldest and most prestigious scholastic science and math competition, the Society for Science announced on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
The 300 will be awarded $2,000 each and their schools will be awarded $2,000 for each enrolled scholar.
The Regeneron Science Talent Search scholars were selected from 1,949 applications from 627 high schools across 48 states, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and four other countries.

Ossining HS Grad, Age 40, Remembered As 'Talented Athlete Who Led An Active Life'
A man who graduated from a Northern Westchester high school and was known as a talented athlete who competed at the collegiate level has died at the age of 40.
George Robert “G.R.” Tryon III died peacefully in Ulster County on Tuesday, Sept. 6, in Kingston, according to his obituary.
He was a graduate of Ossining High School, where he received 11 varsity letters in baseball, football, and wrestling.
"G.R. was a talented athlete who led an active life," his obituary reads.
He continued wrestling at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania, where he received a bachelor's degree in business.

Support is surging for a Northern Westchester family mourning the loss of their 21-year-old son in a South Jersey crash over the Fourth of July weekend.

Covid-19: With 34 Under Quarantine, Ossining School District Goes Remote
A school district in Northern Westchester with dozens of staff members under COVID-19 quarantine is closing for in-person education.
Ossining High School and Park School will switch to remote learning Monday, Nov. 16 through Friday, Nov. 20.
The Anne M. Dorner Middle School and elementary schools will be fully remote from Monday, Nov. 16 to Wednesday, Nov. 18, before reopening for hybrid learning on Thursday, Nov. 19, and Friday, Nov. 20.
