Moose On Loose At UConn Campus Signals Beginning Of Birthing Season After a moose was spotted on the UConn campus, Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is advising motorists to be watchful of increased deer and moose activity along roadways. Man Caught With Handgun, Pot In I-84 Stop, Sheriff Says A man from Connecticut is facing drug and weapon charges after being busted with an illegal handgun during an early morning stop on I-84 in Putnam County. Benjamin Hartley, of Mansfield, was stopped by a Putnam County Sheriff’s deputy at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 when he committed a traffic violation on the interstate while traveling through Southeast.

New Tornado Touchdown Confirmed, Bringing Total In NY/CT To Five A second tornado has been confirmed to have touched down in Connecticut during Tuesday's severe storms. The first tornado confirmed was in New Canaan and Norwalk, according to the National Weather Service. It hit New Canaan at 5:29 p.m. and went through Norwalk until 5:41 p.m. Coupled with two tornadoes  in the Hudson Valley and one on Long Island (in Ronkonkoma in Suffolk County), a total of five twisters touched down in downstate New York and Connecticut during the storms.
