Duo Wanted For Stealing More Than $1K In Merchandise From Central Islip Target Authorities are searching for two men who are accused of stealing $1,170 worth of merchandise from a Long Island store. Two men stole assorted items from Target in Central Islip, located at 160 North Research Place, on Monday, Nov. 21, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Man Wanted For Stealing Bottles Of Whiskey Valued At $1,350 From Port Jefferson Store Authorities asked the public for help identifying a man who is wanted for stealing about $1,350 worth of whiskey from a Long Island store. A man stole four bottles of whiskey from Markay’s Wine and Liquor in Port Jefferson at about 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported on Monday, Dec. 5. He left the store, located at 4600 Nesconset Highway, and fled in a dark-colored SUV, police said. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Man Accused Of Driving Drunk At More Than Twice Legal Limit In Westchester County A 36-year-old man was charged after troopers reported that he drove in Westchester County while intoxicated at more than twice the legal limit. Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on I-287 in Rye at about 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, New York State Police reported. The driver, identified as Luis Perez Paredes, of New Fairfield, Connecticut, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested, authorities said. 22-Year-Old Meriden Man Charged In Crash That Seriously Injured 2 Passengers A Connecticut man is facing multiple assault charges following a crash that seriously injured two passengers last year. New Haven County resident Daniel Leal Jr., of Meriden, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 2, in connection to a crash that happened in Kearny, New Jersey, in October of 2021, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced. East Setauket Cat Found After Missing For 10 Years, Will Be Reunited With Family In Spain A cat named Mimi who went missing on Long Island a decade ago will soon travel abroad to be reunited with her family. An individual brought the cat to the Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter and Adoption Center on Monday, Dec. 5, after feeding and caring for the animal for three months, the Town of Brookhaven announced. Woman Critically Injured In 2-Vehicle North Amityville Crash A woman suffered critical injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Long Island. The crash happened in North Amityville at about 5:50 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, the Suffolk County Police Department said. SCPD said a 51-year-old Farmingdale man was driving a 2002 Toyota Sequoia south on Route 110 when his vehicle collided with a 2004 Nissan Sentra as it crossed Route 110 from westbound Parthey Lane. MTA Bans Alcohol On Lirr, Metro-North Trains For SantaCon The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is banning alcohol consumption on Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad trains during SantaCon this year. The MTA announced the ban on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The organization has also banned alcohol consumption during SantaCon in years past.
