The Planning Board is seeking applications from residents of the unincorporated area (the area outside the villages of Ossining and Briarcliff Manor) for two seats expiring on Dec. 31 and a seat left vacant by the chair’s resignation.

Preferable skills include comprehension of architectural drawings and plans, or a background in engineering or law. Members must also be available for bimonthly meetings every second and fourth Wednesday evening.

Members are appointed for five-year terms ending Dec. 31, except for the unexpired term left vacant by the chair which expires at the close of 2018.

See the “Town General Code - Chapter 200, Article XI: Planning Board” for more information on the role of the Town Planning Board. The Environmental Advisory Committee also has two seats expiring on Dec. 31 and is seeking applications from unincorporated area residents. Meetings are held on the first Monday of every month. The committee promotes environmental conservation by acting in an advisory capacity to the Town Board on environmental policies such as steep slopes, wetlands and tree protection ordinances.  If interested in a seat on the Planning Board or Environmental Advisory Committee send a cover letter and resume or summary of appropriate qualifications to Maddi Zachacz at Mzachacz@townofossining.com by Friday, Dec. 26, 2014.
