Ossining Matters is hosting its 15th annual 5K run/two-mile walk on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.
The event benefits Ossining Matters, a not-for-profit education foundation that raises funds for the Ossining School District.
Runners begin at the Main Street Post Office, while walkers start at the Double
Arches. Everyone will follow the path along the old Croton Aqueduct trail towards the Crawbuckie Nature Preserve, accessing the park via a path created by the Avalon residential complex. Walkers will venture into the complex before heading back to finish their hike. Runners will proceed a bit further north before returning to the Double Arches Finish Line.
As in past years, there will also be a kids festival and an award ceremony. To register, visit www.ossiningmatters.org. The adult run costs $25 ($35 to register in person), the adult walk costs $20, ($25 to register in person.) For students, to run is $15 ($25 to register in person) and to walk is $10.
