Man, Dog Die In House Fire On Route 9W In Rockland A 67-year-old homeowner along with his dog were both found dead just minutes after West Haverstraw firefighters pulled themfrom the home where a fire broke out. The fire was reported around 11:40 a.m. Sunday at a two-and-a-half story wood house at 8 Route 9W, near Railroad Avenue in West Haverstraw, said John Kryger, Rockland County Deputy Fire Coordinator.
