Man Nabbed Fleeing State Police During Hudson Valley Traffic Stop, Cops Say A 27-year-old man was charged with fleeing a police officer after allegedly taking off at a high rate of speed during a traffic stop in the area and then crashing. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 11 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 in the town of Thompson. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, a state trooper was patrolling in the town of Thompson when he spotted a 2015 BMW 6 on Route 17 violating several traffic laws. Suspect Nabbed In Homicide Of 19-Year-Old In Hudson Valley This story has been updated. Police have identified the person shot to death by a 19-year-old man Sunday in a Hudson Valley apartment complex.  Lawrence Burns, 19, of Brooklyn, was found dead around  3:37 a.m. Sunday, by members of the Village of Monticello Police Department and New York State Police, while responding to a 911 call reporting a body on the ground, said Monticello Police  Lt.
